September 29, 2019 *Burlington, NJ* Group trip to the Burlington County Historical Society to see, “Over Here, Molly Pitcher!” Stacy Roth will interpret the life and times of Molly Pitcher, the heroine of the Battle of Monmouth 1778. Relating her tales of firing a cannon in the heat of battle to trudging “behind the baggage,” she provides a glimpse into what it was like to be a “camp follower” in the days when American independence was a dream rather than a certainty. The program time is 2-4pm and it is offered free of charge. March 6, 2018 *Philadelphia, PA* – Philadelphia Flower Show – In the early 1980s Tasha attended this show with our chapter member, Holly,  and Holly’s mother when the flower show was still held at Convention Hall.  Tasha would take the bus down from VT and stay with Holly’s family for a few days at their suburban Philadelphia home.  Holly’s mom and Tasha became friends in NH in the mid 1950s and Holly was one of the little bride’s maids in the doll’s wedding featured in Life Magazine and in the film, The Golden Key. Join the Central New York Chapter as they celebrate Tasha’s life and work this autumn. Barbara Brown of Manlius, will share her collection and knowledge of Tasha books and prints gathered as a former New Hartford Librarian. Mary Spencer of Truxton, will share a few flower arranging tips so each guest will go home with a harvest centerpiece. Supper will be served garden-side, over looking beautiful fields and foliage of Cortland County. October 23, 2018 *Milford, NJ* Lunch and dollhouse showing at a chapter member’s home. In the late 1960s Vicki Panzarino began a correspondence with Tasha, as did their dolls. In the early 1980s Vicki met Tasha in person when her family moved to Vermont. Vicki and Tasha visited each other’s homes. Tasha helped Vicki get her first Corgi. And Vicki was able to attend Tasha’s very last Stillwater party where John Peabody performed with his incredible puppets and marionettes. Vicki has invited The New Jersey Chapter for lunch and to see her memorabilia and the doll house before it moves on to live with younger family members. We will carpool from Bordentown or where ever it is convenient, and, of course, we will each bring a covered dish. Her neighborhood was settled in the 1820s by Irish immigrants who also brought with them “All Hallows Eve.” For the past ten years a resident has chosen a theme and the rest of us follow along with our outside decorations.
