Tasha Tudor Day Events 2024

Did you know that there are eight chapter events coming up in August, most of them Tasha Tudor Day Birthday events? And there’s more! Two new chapters will host their inaugural events in August. Please welcome new volunteers Kelly Brown and Cathryn Evans, who are starting new Tasha Tudor Society chapters; one in Williamsburg, Virginia, and the other in Salt Lake City.

New Leader Kelly Brown from Williamsburg, VA will be holding her new chapter’s first event; a birthday tea, on Aug 28.  You are cordially invited from 11-1 pm in celebration of Tasha Tudor’s birthday. This will also serve as an organizing event to discuss future planning and engagements. Please RSVP by August 25th to Kelly Brown at tashatudorVA@gmail.com for more information.

New Leader Cathryn Evans from the Salt Lake City area will hold the Utah chapter’s first event; plein air painting and lunch on Aug 28.  You are invited to Ashton Gardens at 9:00 a.m. for watercolor en plein air painting. BYO art supplies or borrow theirs. At 11:00 a.m. up to 20 guests may gather for lunch in the reserved room at the Trellis Café. Guests may return to the garden for the remainder of the day, if desired. Guests are welcome to attend all or part of the event. Garden entry has unlimited space and is available at a reduced price before 8/25. Guests pay for their own lunch.

The Society’s established chapters have organized wonderful events as well!

Southern New Hampshire chapter leader Jennifer Pepin has worked with the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library to plan a Tasha Tudor week (August 26-31) which includes a Tasha Tudor presentation, potluck, tea party, potholder weaving thanks to a generous donation from Harrisville Designs. That’s not all! There will also be a seed-saving presentation, a Tasha Tudor book display, and a Storywalk® on the grounds. We hope you can attend one or all of these events.

Diane Cacace Flanigan and Debbie Walker have organized a Southern New Jersey chapter trip to the Mary Cassatt show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on August 10th.

Kay Reakes, Darlene Virgil and Carly Dougherty are bringing members together over antiques and supper in Central New York on August 13. Southern Vermont chapter leader Melinda Mull is having another go at her postponed Christmas event by hosting a Christmas tea August 25 (Christmas outfits are encouraged.) Central Pennsylvania chapter leaders Julia Marsh and Barbara Weaver will be sharing a community presentation, Tasha treasures, and books at the Dover Area Public Library on August 26. There will be cake and the chapter will present the library with Tasha Tudor books for their collection.

Lastly, please join us in thanking volunteer Linda Wuitschick Colantino for her work over the years as she steps down from her co-leader role for the Pacific Northwest Chapter. Diane Bennett will stay on as co-leader and longtime member Sue Holt will step up as the new co-leader. Join them for the upcoming tea at the Pink Chandelier tea shop on Aug 17, reservations due August 2. After the tea, the group will move to a nearby community room to continue the fun.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who make these events possible. We hope you are able to join a Tasha Tudor Day gathering near you. If you live in an area without a chapter, consider starting your own Tasha Tudor Society Chapter. Find out how here.
