The next issue of the Journal of the Tasha Tudor Society features three interesting articles. Judith Nixon, a Night Before Christmas scholar examines Tasha’s contribution to the image of Clement Moore’s St. Nicholas. Learn how Tasha’s St. Nick varies from others of her period. Did you know Tasha published three versions of the poem?

You may have originally discovered Tasha through her robust offering of Christmas cards. From 1957-1977 she illustrated more than 300. Tasha Tudor scholar Jeanette Chandler Knazek explores the Tudor holiday traditions expressed in her Christmas cards and other sources.

And that’s not all. Retired librarian Laura Ellen Wade continues exploring dolls in Tasha’s life. In Journal 22, learns about two dolls frequently pictured in Tasha’s illustrations; Polly Heckewelder dolls and Polly Shorrock dolls.

The Society is exceedingly fortunate to feature such wonderful community contributions in the next Journal. (If there’s something you’d like to share, research, or explore, the next submission deadline is March 1.)
If your annual membership is current as of November 1, you’ll automatically receive a copy of the printed Journal in the mail. If you would like to become a member, please join (or renew!) by November 1 to receive this fun issue.
2024 has been a financially challenging year for the Society. If you are in a position to do so, please consider making an additional contribution to celebrate Tasha’s remarkable life!
Thank you for your support,
Amy Tudor (Tasha’s granddaughter-in-law), Director
